In 2004 the Health & Safety Executive moved in to a new purpose built headquarters building in Bootle,

Whilst at Cartwright Pickard Architects, Matt was on the team delivering the complex scheme, which brought
together various departments of the HSE into a naturally ventilated open plan 4 storey office building.

The building actively contributes to the well being of the users, and the layout fosters cross communication
between departments who can meet up in the shared facilities the building offers.

The scheme is a BCO (British Council for Offices) Corporate Workplace Award Winner.

Location: Bootle, Merseyside, UK
Client: Kajima Developments
Cost: c. £45.0m
